Arjun Rampal is on cloud nine now. His last few films, although were multi-starrers but were his most commercially successful films.Arjun confessed that he wasn’t too keen on playing the baddie in Om Shanti Om. But Apparently on New Year’s eve SRK and Farah dragged him into the bathroom and told him about his role. Arjun wondered what impact the negative role may have on his kids. And when SRK assuringly said -

“Do this one film for yourself. You’ll do plenty for your kids!”

Arjun then went ahead with the role and now he is all smiles about his success. Not only Farah and Shahrukh are fond of Arjun but Farhan Akhtar is a huge fan of him too.

Actually Farhan had Arjun in mind for his movie Lakshya. “I’d earlier wanted him for a role in Lakshya, but he’d been busy. I’d seen him with his kids on holiday and thought he could draw on that for the character,” says Farhan.

Farhan then cast him in his remake of Don in Prans role which Arjun agreed to do only on the condition saying “As long as you don’t put me in spandex and make me walk the tightrope”.

Well from Don on, Arjun has been plainly lucky… His last film ‘The Last Lear’ is said to be his best performance till date.

Finally Arjun has proved that he is much more than an amazingly good look guy.

Dostana released today and like all Karan Johar films this movie has a lot of expectations. Primarily, also because it has Bollywood biggies like Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham (wonder if I should include Bobby Deol’s name in that list).

Priyanka looks sooooo good. I love her new hairstyle. Abhishek looks weary as though we was made to walk all the way from Kochi to Mumbai. John looks hot but as usual has his mouth half open (that makes him look kinda dumb) and Bobby Deol… he is okay (but he seems as bland as a boiled egg without salt).

The reigning Baadshah of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan celebrated his 43rd birthday, Aishwarya Rai proudly turned 35 and Tabu turned 38. Bollywood’s creme de la creme has really come of age. Top Bollywood heroes are all above 40 and top actresses are in their early and mid-thirties.

Aamir Khan too is 43, Salman Khan is 42, Akshay Kumar 41, Sanjay Dutt 49, Anil Kapoor 48. Salman Khan still annoyingly lurks around roles of a young man waiting to fall in love. Aamir Khan, carries his age with class and focuses on a lot more than chocolate romance that has been SRK’s department for a long long time. But with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi Shahrukh seems to show that as an actor he is quite comfortable with his age, although Om Shanti Om was quite a shocker in this matter.

All top Bollywood actresses are in their thirties. Mallika 36, Aishwarya 35, Preity 33, Amisha 32, Sushmita 32, Bipasha 31, Rani 30 and Vidya 30. Kareena Kapoor 28, Priyanka Chopra 26 and Amrita Rao 27 are in their late twenties and have still some time to go before their careers start sagging but for all the beauties in their 30s, they start worrying about their future, marriage and their biological clock that keeps ticking faster at that age.

As far as the actresses are concerned, these days young guns like Prachi Desai 20, Kangana Ranaut 21, Deepika Padukone 22, Minnisha Lamba 23, Asin 23, Sonam Kapoor 23, and Katrina Kaif 24 are topping the popularity charts along with guys like Ranbir Kapoor 26 and Imran Khan 25 who are just in their mid-20s.

Some people like Mallika Sherawat and Bipasha Basu have gone at length to hide their original age. Bipasha who went around the world saying she is 29 only is actually 32 years old. Her school junior from Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Kolkata who is herself actually 29 says,

“Bipasha was my senior in school and at least three years older than me. I don’t know how she suddenly cut down so many years”.

Mallika Sherawat, although has every excuse to make her look like a 27 year old but she is actually not. She has apparently had a long struggling phase of modelling, air hosting and even an alleged failed marriage. That makes her just not less than 36 years old. Yet she recently celebrated her 28th birthday.

I wish Bollywood learns to age gracefully… even if they dont there is always Godrej, Loreal and Garnier for their rescue… you know what I mean.

Super Sexy former Miss World Priyanka Chopra who floored the audiences with her dare-bare performance in Fashion is waiting anxiously for audiences reaction to Dostana, which is her next release.The leggy lass has confessed working hard on her body for the film. She says,

“For Fashion, I had to put on six kilos and later had to shed chip by chip as the character progressed in the film. My body structure in Dostana is more toned than in Fashion as it is a completely beach film. I’ve worked very hard on my body.”

Since its a complete beach film, we would find Priyanka Chopra dressed chic and minimal clothes apart from bikinis.

Perhaps that’ll get you some warmth in the November cold.

Sushmita Sen has been recently offered the role of Pakistan’s former lady Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto by two prominent Pakistani producers Zaid Aziz and Henna Rai.This film would be a bilingual film made in both English and Urdu and would be shot lavishly in Pakistan and England.

Apparently, Sushmita is working hard for her character. She is reading up extensively on the life of Benzir Bhutto and also working on her Urdu diction. (no wonder there was all that annoyingly excessive use of subhanallah and mashallah in Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena)

Sushmita earlier declared her love for historical character and period flicks. We hope atleast this film will soar her popularity in Bollywood.

SRK has confirmed the rumors that he is indeed playing a double role in his forthcoming Yash Raj flick Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

King Khan reveals, “When Adi narrated this story to me, I loved it. I didn’t think he wanted me for the lead role though, because he always narrated his stories to me, in spite of people thinking that we don’t get along. One of the characters, Surendra Sahni, is this normal man who is secure in his skin. He is an ordinary man who has an extraordinary story to tell. He is truly secure in his skin. I like such people.”

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi will be hitting the theaters on 12th December. The songs for the flick have also been released.

After finding a xerox-copy of ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai for his flick Lucky, Salman Khan has done it again, this time he has found a ditto copy of his current flame Katrina Kaif.

Zarina Khan, was spotted by Salman Khan on the sets of Yuvraaj, where she is Katrina’s body double. And after spotting her similarity with Katrina he has decided to cast her opposite himself in Veer.

A source reveals, “Zarina is slightly younger than Katrina, her age is 21. If one was to see Zarina from afar then you would not be able to make out who is who. Zarina’s name will be changed before the film releases and she will be given a much more common Hindu name.”

The girl has been in hiding, as Sallu wants to keep it a secret, but we will surely show you the pic as soon we lay our hands on it.

It happened with Mallika Sherawat, however the girl knew that she just had a five second scene for her international flick The Myth, but this similiar news can be very dissapointing for Aishwarya Rai, the bosses of her international flick Pink Panther have ignored her completely in the trailers and posters of the flick, inspite the Indian beauty starring in major scenes.

The Steve Martin flick, which will hit the theater after four months, shows no signs of Aishwarya Rai.

A source reveals, “There has been considerable delay in the film’s release. Earlier this year, the writer’s strike hampered the film’s progress. Also, the studio executives are fighting a battle against time to draw a campaign strategy that does justice to the film. Between all this, it will be interesting to see how much of Ash’s role is retained and if she will play any part in the film’s promotion or not.”

Well that’s the reason I guess, out Bollywood queens prefer to stay in their own territory.

After hearing the news of Ash’s role being chopped from Pink Panther, Kareena must be really happy on her decision to turn down a role offered by Gurinder Chadda to her to act opposite Hollywood hottie Johnny Depp.

A source commenting on this episode says, “Three years ago, Gurinder Chadda (director of this new film) wanted Kareena for Bride & Prejudice. Kareena naturally presumed it was the lead. She was shocked to know the director actually wanted her for Aishwarya’s youngest sister’s part which finally went to Piya Rai Choudhary. Bebo was irked at being offered the fourth lead and vowed never to work with her again. Now when a new Gurinder Chadha film was offered to Kareena she quickly said no without hesitation.”

However Kareena also confirms this bit of news, saying, “Who offers a role is not important. What is being offered is important. I’m really not that enthused by the idea of going international unless it’s something really big. I don’t even know if Gurinder’s offer was with Johnny Depp. I was just not interested.”
