Quiz Sallu about the reason he did not vote, he says, “It was not possible for me to take a flight from London just to show that I voted.”

When he is given the example of his colleagues SRK and Aamir who made it a point to fly from foreign locations just to vote, he said, “They have the time and money to do so which I do not have.”

So is voting not an important issue for Salman? he says, “The Government should make voting mandatory by punishing people who don’t do so and giving incentives to citizens to vote. I would come for that extra money.”

Kareena Kapoor is not only adding glam to her upcoming flick Kambaqt Ishq by wearing a bathsuit, she has also indulged in a steamy liplock with co-actor Akshay Kumar in the movie.

Now our young Bebo was not quite comfortable with the idea of kissing her 40+ year old co-star, the reason was that Akki was elder sister Lolo’s leading man during her hey days and Kareena was only a 12-year-old little kid who would shy away from Akki whenever she accompanied Karisma to her shootings.

So it was equally awkward for Akshay too ‘coz she is just a kid in front of him. However the kiss was neccessary for the story and both of them gave their professional commitments a priority over their personal thoughts.

Aishwarya Rai has given herself a day off in a bid to spend it with her ailing father.

A friend close to Ash says, “It was a long spell. Shooting in Karjat for prolonged periods is not new to Aishwarya. For Jodhaa-Akbar she was stationed in Karjat for so long that it became her second home. But now circumstances have changed. After her father’s illness, Aishwarya doesn’t like to be away from Mumbai for prolonged periods. Even when she was shooting in the jungles of Kerala for Mani Ratnam Aishwarya made sure she visited Mumbai to be with her father. Though she never lets it show in her work being away from home is very difficult for her now and would like to shoot as much as possible in Mumbai. Ironically almost all her films are being shot outside the city.”

“Aishwarya kept track of Feroz Khan’s health through Fardeen and when he passed away she was deeply affected. At the prayer meeting Fardeen and Aishwarya exchanged notes like two wounded war veterans.”

Quiz Aishwarya about the holiday after which she will leave for Karjat, she says, “It was something I had to do. I did it more for myself than for them.”

It would’ve have been dream come true for Sonam Kapoor for walking the red carpet amongst bevy of beauties like Aishwarya Rai, Eva Longoria and Penelope Cruz for L’Oreal at Cannes Film Festival 2009, however her dreams were shattered when Aishwarya refused to let Sonam walk the carpet for the brand she is endorsing.

A source says, “On May 10, while attending the brand’s event in Mumbai, Sonam had spoken about replacing Ash, an international face for a whole range of products for the company. At the same event, Sonam was welcomed as the youngest member to join the brand’s dream team. Then the company folk then added that Sonam would be walking the red carpet in Cannes.”

However a source close to Aishwarya says, “Aishwarya’s deal with the company is clear: she is the international face while Sonam would represent the Indian face. For a while Ash believed that Sonam was misled about the red carpet turn and that she had spoken out of youthful exuberance. But when she found out otherwise, the diva put her foot down. As a result, the there was furious activity to and fro and anxious moments at the company’s office in Mumbai all of Friday.Sonam has not been invited by the brand but is there with her father Anil Kapoor as a visitor.”

The source close to Sonam says, “At the Cannes festival press conference, Aishwarya called Sonam’s statements on the party day as juvenile and irresponsible.”

Sonam is shocked and hurt that Aishwarya is reacting to her in such a way when Sonam has gone out of her way to praise her at the party held on May 10. Sonam and Aishwarya are from two different generations and she has always looked up to Ash for her ability to handle the most difficult of situations with dignity and style.”

“Sonam can’t understand why Ash is so upset with her and is bitching her out everywhere. Sonam feels that Aishwarya is doing some great films in spite of being 35 years old and that Sonam is too small for someone’s of Aishwarya’s stature. It’s very childish of Aishwarya to react like this.”

Salman Khan is known for his mood swings and these swings are not being enjoyed by 10 Ka Dum producers as the actor has not yet started shooting for the reality show, inspite the promos going on air.

A source says, “Salman was meant to complete shooting for four episodes of the second season of the show, something he hasn’t done yet.”

“The channel has already begun promotional ads and outdoor hoardings have been put up. The show is slated to air from May 30.”

“Salman was to begin shooting last week but he never showed up. The makers could barely finish shooting two promos with him. The producers now have the actor’s dates (after May 22) but it still isn’t clear if he will show up. The actor’s dates were a nagging issue even last year. He didn’t turn up for most of his shoots and eventually, the company had to shoot with his friends a lot more than with normal contestants.”

A spokesman from Big Synergy who is producing the show says, “It is true that Salman has not shot a single minute of the show yet. We all have been panicking. It does look like he will make us shoot late nights like he did last year.”

I am sure the producers must be saying ‘Kya Dum Hai Bhai!’
